Victor Halbgewach -- “My Life as a Beekeeper”

Makin' Honey is a small cottage business that Victor Halbgewachs started in 1983. Victor is a second generation beekeeper learning the art of beekeeping from his father, Harold Halbgewachs. Harold's first hive was a birthday gift given to him in 1926. His bee operation grew to include his four sons working 5,000 hives of bees. In 1983 Victor bought hives from his Dad and worked his bee business of 1,000 hives in Georgia and Florida. Victor stopped keeping bees commercially in 1994 and is now engaged in his cottage bee business at Cartersville, GA. Victor collects honey, bee pollen and bee's wax from his hives giving attention to keep the products pure and natural.
